EROSION SWARM BEHAVIOUR | Agents based system applied to a body suit design

The dress is the first layer of protection and separation between the body and the surrounding environment. The weather has a big impact on most aspects of our lives, from the season it depends on how we dress and protect. If the building envelope is regarded as a dress to wear, the same dress in its complexity can be considered an architecture; like the buildings also the clothes are designed to adapt to different climatic conditions. The intent is to explore by simulations and a computational approach a design of a sports body suit contrasting climatic conditions through its forms. The relationship between the human body and the natural environment through a performative driven design approach will take into account the behavior of the body: movement, protection, thermal regulation. The research prototype will be developed through a simulation applied to the design of the body suit through modeling techniques and the use of custom design codes. In this case an algorithm that simulates the erosion will be developed to analyze the continuous changes of the material that will bring morphological changes, producing a catalog of variations and properties such as breathability, ventilation and resistance. This project is based on the reorganization of materials, in particular on the action of the fluid dynamic erosion. This concept is explored through a script that is based on an agent-based system that allows us to add different behaviors and use them as data for the design process.
